23-12-2016: “This blog will always hold a special place in my heart but, sadly, the time has come to stop posting.”
Four years ago I posted what I thought would be the final post on this blog.
I started my blog in September 2009 when it was a requirement of the postgraduate diploma in magazine journalism that I was studying.
Over the seven years it ran for the blog evolved – from design face lifts to reviewing the content I was posting. I also engaged more and more with my fellow film bloggers until running the blog became, sadly, more of a chore than a hobby.
10-12-2020: “Honey, I’m home!”
Four years later and here I am writing again.
I’ve moved jobs, travelled (hitting my target of visiting 30 countries before my 30th birthday) and pursued other hobbies, namely flower photography (find me on Instagram).
What hasn’t changed is my love of film.
I’ve been religiously updating my Letterboxd account since January 2012 (logging over 1,000 films) and still watch a couple of films a week.
While I can’t promise that my posts will be regular, I’m returning to this blog because I’ve missed it, and in the pandemic-fuelled year that is 2020 you have to spend time doing things that bring you joy.
So hello, blogosphere. It’s great to be back.
PS. Heart-warming to see that so many of the blogs I followed years ago are still posting. Will have a read of your excellent blogs soon.
