They just don’t make toys like they used to…
In an earlier blog post I wrote about movie-based toys and the range available.
I found an absolute gem online earlier which was a lot in a recent sale held by Morphy Auctions. Lot 643 – a Superman Krypto-Raygun – sold for $920 (£598).
The Superman Krypto-Raygun was released in 1940 by the Daisy Manufacturing Company. The description provided by Morphy Auctions explained: “Box contains metal gun with flying Superman shown on the barrel. Film strips, gun, and inserts are complete in near mint condition. One of the first Superman products sold in department stores.”
This looks like a fantastic toy and I really like the illustrated box — I readily admit I am a sucker for great packaging. I like the concept too: project ‘exciting picture stories on the wall’.
